Terms of Service

iStudy · last updated 18 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and iStudy, a sole trader in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”), for using iStudy. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy. By using iStudy you agree to them.

1. Who can use iStudy

iStudy is for families. It must be set up by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over, who agrees to these terms for themselves and for the children who use it. Children may use iStudy with their parent’s or guardian’s permission. Only adults can subscribe.

2. What iStudy does

iStudy helps students organise school lessons, create AI summaries and quizzes, revise, talk to an AI tutor (by text or voice), and helps parents follow progress. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete. iStudy is a study aid, not a replacement for teachers, textbooks or professional advice; please check anything important.

3. Your family account

4. Free trial

New families get a free trial of 7 days, starting the first time an AI feature is used. No card is needed. During the trial the voice tutor is limited to a set number of minutes a day. One free trial per family. When the trial ends, the AI features pause until you subscribe; your lessons, photos and notes remain available.

5. Subscription and payment

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in Settings → Family & plan → Your plan → Manage billing. Your plan then stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and does not renew. We don’t give refunds for part-used periods, except as described below or where the law requires.

Your 14-day right to cancel (UK consumers): you can cancel a new subscription within 14 days of first paying. Because iStudy starts straight away when you subscribe, you agree that if you cancel within those 14 days we may keep a fair amount for the days you have already had, and refund the rest. To use this right, email us at support@istudyapp.co.uk.

7. Your content

You own the lessons, photos, notes and other content you add. You give us permission to process it only as needed to run iStudy for you, for example sending it to our AI providers to create a summary (see the Privacy Policy). Only upload material you are allowed to use, and don’t upload other people’s personal information unless you have the right to.

8. Fair use

Please don’t misuse iStudy: no trying to break or overload it, getting around trial or plan limits, reselling access, or using it for anything harmful, abusive or illegal. We may limit or suspend access if iStudy is misused, and will tell you why where we can.

9. Changes to iStudy and availability

We are always improving iStudy, so features may change. We try to keep iStudy available at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems with our providers. If we make a change that significantly affects a paid plan, we will tell you and you can cancel.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide iStudy with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for content lost from a device or Drive outside our control, or for decisions made based on AI answers, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using iStudy at any time and cancel any plan as described above. We may end these terms if they are seriously broken, or if we stop providing iStudy, in which case we will give reasonable notice and refund any payment for the period after it ends.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The latest version is always on this page with its date. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it applies; if you don’t agree, you can cancel.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also use the courts where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to sort out any problem.
